Family Business
At Emmy's Bakery we are Family
Hello! Welcome to my bakery page! This week, I am putting my serious business lady head on, My amazing business manager (my husband Jake) and I started talking about having a story, Who I am and who I want to become with Emmy’s Bakery. I knew I wanted this post to be a chance for us to get to know each other a little better but how much is too much? How do you draw the line between being open and creating relationships, and oversharing? Well let’s find out… Once Upon A Time... I’m Emily! (Em, Emmy– I’ll answer to them all) I am a 26 year old Mom of two littles, My husband and I moved to LaPorte about 5 years ago and are excited to make LaPorte our home. Three facts about me are that I Love to host parties the more I can go all out the better! I am a huge Giver, I really hope to be a big part of the community and I want to give the people of LaPorte a place to make “sweet” memories. I love Clouds yep, the big white fluffy things in the sky. Cloudy days are one of my favorite types of days. I could watch clouds all day. They are absolutely breathtaking. My favorite item I make and sell would be my Carmetta Cookie … no wait the maple.. No, the Carmetta, especially warmed up just a bit to make it melty and gooey absolute heaven in a cookie. For those who don’t know what my Carmetta cookie is, it's a soft Oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips, and caramel chips drizzled with caramel. Something big we’ve recently did was add to our family of 22! We now have Three Dogs, Five Cats (two indoors, three outdoors), eight Chickens, three fainting Goats, oh and the two kids. Now more about the baking side of me. I started baking with my Mom and sister when I was about eight years old. My mom loved having sweets in the house but wasn’t a fan of baking so quickly taught me and my sister how to bake which meant cookies, and brownies were always found. Smart thinking on my moms part. I have always loved to bake but never even thought about doing it professionally till about a year ago when I made some tasty treats for my husband's coworkers and they have been a huge support of me starting Emmy’s Bakery. Baking is my happy place and I love being able to share my sweet treats with so many people. Am I oversharing? Maybe! But it seems just as important that we can bond over who we are, as well as bonding over a sweet treat My goal is to make Emmy’s Bakery a place where anyone can come and Treat themselves to that sweet sunshine!
